Make The Smart Migration to a P25 Digital Radio System

bulletProject 25 (P25) Digital Features:

Submersible Portable

bulletIP-X7 WATERPROOF*

It's OK to get these F70 series Icom portables wet. In fact, they've been tested to survive submersion. The speaker grill is designed to quickly channel away water, helping to keep incoming communications clear.

*International Standard IEC 60529 (2001). 1m depth for 30 minutes.

bulletINTEROPERABILITY

The F70D VHF/F80D UHF series portables and the F1721D VHF/F1821D UHF series mobiles (note the "D" on the end of each name) are P25 compliant. They ensure interoperability with other manufacturer's P25 digital radios in digital and conventional mode.

bulletMIXED MODE OPERATION

These radios are compatible with both analog FM mode and P25 digital mode. Program digital and/or analog FM modes per channel, right in the same radio. A mixed mode scan allows you to detect and receive both analog FM and P25 digital modes and to transmit either mode depending on programming.

bulletOTHER DIGITAL FEATURES

NAC (Network Access Code) operation provides quiet stan-by in a large group and is used to open a closed digital repeater.

Selective call/individual call using unit ID and talkgroup ID.

100 Unit ID, 250 talkgroup ID memories

bulletBUILT-IN, VERSATILE TONE SIGNALING

Use the built-in CTCSS, DTCS, 2-tone, 5-tone or BIIS 1200 capability to set up your own talk groups, and have your radio standby quietly when other groups are talking. You can also set up selective calls to individuals or control a repeater.

bulletALPHANUMERIC DISPLAY

The large, high-contrast LCD clearly shows a variety of information with a full dot-matrix display. Program the display to show either 1 line with 12 characters or 2 lines with 24 characters. Status icons are displayed at the top and the functions are assigned to the "P" buttons at the bottom of the display.

bulletMULTIPLE 2-TONE, MULTIPLE 5-TONE

Encode or decode up to ten 2-tone, eight 5-tone codes on a single memory channel. This is perfect for professionals who require multiple district paging on one channel. When a matched tone is received, the following items are programmable foe each code: Bell Icon, Beep Sound, External Out, Answer Back, Auto Transmit, Stun, Scan.

bullet256 MEMORY CHANNELS, 32 ZONES

Up to 256 memory channels can be divided into 32 memory zones, allowing you quick channel access. Each channel may be independently programmed for 25 or 12.5 kHz spacing.

bulletTACTICAL GROUP FUNCTION

The tactical group function allows you to copy memory channels into a new memory zone (using zone 32) without using PC programming. This function allows you to construct a temporary work group on site for working with interorganization groups, such as in case of large scale disasters.

bulletBUILT-IN VOICE SCRAMBLER

An inversion-type voice scrambler is included in each radio. When a more secure system is required, there are several optional voice scrambler units to choose from. DES digital encryption will be available in late 2005, and AES digital encryption in the future. Icom is commited to develope P25 trunking upgrades in the future!
